The Mental Equivalent: The Secret of Demonstration

The Mental Equivalent: The Secret of Demonstrationby Emmet FoxWilder Publications

The key to life is to build in the mental equivalents of what you want and to expunge the equivalents of what you do not want. How do you do it? You build in the mental equivalents by thinking quietly, constantly, and persistently of the kind of thing you want, and by thinking that has two qualities: clearness or definiteness, and interest. If you want to build anything into your life-if you want to bring health, right activity, your true place, inspiration; if you want to bring right companionship, and above all if you want understanding of God-form a mental equivalent of the thing which you want by thinking about it a great deal, by thinking clearly and with interest. Remember clarity and interest; those are the two poles. Wilder Publications is a green publisher. All of our books are printed to order. This reduces waste and helps us keep prices low while greatly reducing our impact on the environment.

The Mental Equivalent

The Mental Equivalentby Emmet FoxMartino Fine Books

2011 reprint of 1953 edition. Emmet Fox (1886-1951) was born in Ireland, and is a famous New Thought spiritual leader of the early 20th Century. He had a large influence on the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous. His writing, especially "The Sermon on the Mount," became popular in AA. Fox taught that the foundation for all true productive expression was positive thinking. The technique involved having conscious awareness of our daily thought process and connectivity to God in order to realize any change or manifestation in the external environment. This concept was also taught by many mystics, including Rumi, Jesus, Buddha, Gandhi, and others from across all wisdom traditions. Fox believed that the doctrine of the mental equivalent was an essential metaphysical teaching; the doctrine that you will receive that for which you provide the mental equivalent.

Proverbs, East And West: An Anthology of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese Sayings with Western Equivalents

Proverbs, East And West: An Anthology of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese Sayings with Western Equivalentsby Kim Yong-CholHollym International Corp.

The proverb is one of the oldest and shortest forms of folklore. This is why more and more people in our time are turning to the proverb as an important tool of communication and learning.
This book is a personal selection of proverbial sayings deriving from the peoples of China, Korea, and Japan. A total of 1,359 Asian proverbs in English translation have been chosen for this volume.

This book places each group of Asian proverbs with a comparable group of Western proverbs so that the reader may view the Asian proverbs against their Western equivalents. As many as 867 Western proverbs have been chosen for this book. For the reader's sheer enjoyment and contemplation, the proverbs are arranged in topical categories, ranging from Anger to Wisdom. Drawing deep interests are many instances of the unity of perception in both Asian and Western proverbs.
